Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini shut his critics up with a solid performance vs Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The Belgian was a surprise inclusion in the squad with new signing Fred the player to make way.
Fellaini was a part of a midfield three that included Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic and it appeared to work well.
United won 2-0 against the home side, getting their first clean sheet of the season on their fourth try.
Marouane was central to that, winning all his tackles, clearing the ball well and showing off his strength in the air too.

100% tackles won
68 touches
7 aerial duels won
6 clearances— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) September 2, 2018
Perhaps even more surprising than Fellaini being a part of the starting XI was just where he featured.
The former Everton man played as a defensive midfielder, protecting Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof against Burnley’s physical attackers.
Not only did Marouane do that role superbly but he also kept things simply going forward, allowing Matic and Pogba to express themselves further up the pitch.
Jose Mourinho’s decision certainly paid off and he may be tempted to do this more often moving forward.
United had conceded seven goals in three matches prior to Burnley and the Portuguese manager may feel Fellaini is the solution to that problem.
