New Liverpool signing Fabinho has criticised Chelsea for their decision to let Tiemoue Bakayoko leave the club this summer.
Speaking to Yahoo, as reported by the Metro, the Brazilian midfielder believes that the Blues have not seen the best of the Frenchman yet.
I don’t think he struggled that much. I watched a few games and he seemed always good to me. Obviously, in your first season in a new club it’s always difficult and I wasn’t expecting him to leave, but AC Milan are getting a great player.
I’m sure he’ll be able to prove how good he is and show what he did at Monaco. I’m sure if he comes back to England he will be stronger and will show everyone what he’s capable of.
Bakayoko struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League during his first season at the club under Antonio Conte.
It became clear that he was set to fall further down the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge this season.
Reports suggested that Bakayoko had been deemed ‘too physical’ for the Italian’s style of play and would be moved on.
He joined AC Milan over the summer on loan, with the Serie A side also having the option to sign the player permanently at the end of the season.
