Manchester United are reportedly prepared to meet the release clause in Saul Nigez’s contract at Atletico Madrid.
The Reds have a been linked recently with a move for Saul’s club teammate Lucas Hernandez, who has a £72 million release clause.
But OK Diario have suggested that Man United want to bring Saul Nigel to English football and will be willing to shell out the huge £134 million required.
The 23-year-old has huge experience despite remaining relatively young. With 200 senior appearances for Atleti in all competitions, his importance to the side only continues to grow and thus too does his reputation as a whole in European football.
Saul is one of a number of players to display their commitment to Atleti with a huge long-term contract. His deal, similarly to Lucas Hernandez, expires in 2026, a staggering eight years from now.
Atleti have seen much of their best talent escape their clutches over the last few years and this is one method of safeguarding against that.
Although United will be willing to trigger that release clause in Saul’s contract, OK Diario also indicate that there is significant interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, both of whom are champions of their respective leagues.
