Long-term Chelsea target Kostas Manolas will reportedly see his release clause scrapped as part of a new deal in Rome.
Calciomercato report that the Italian side are working on a number of new deals for their players and they hope to get rid of any bargain deals for potential suitors in the future.
The Greek defender was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last season and has emerged as a target on a number of occasions over recent years, but he opted to stay in Italy.
Manolas looked set to leave Roma in the summer of 2017, with offers from Chelsea and Zenit, but a deal fell through.
He was also linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge during the most recent summer transfer with Maurizio Sarri keen to strengthen defensively.
Roma’s sporting director Monchi is hoping to get Manolas, promising midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini as well as experienced duo Daniele De Rossi and Edin Dzeko to pen new deals at the club.
