Manchester United are reportedly set to ignite their interest in Manchester City target and Wolves star Ruben Neves.
The two giants previously locked horns over deals for Alexis Sanchez and Fred if sections of the media are to be believed.
Of course United one those battles and now they will be attempting to do so once again to bring Neves to Old Trafford.
There doesn’t appear to be much space for the Portuguese with Jose Mourinho spoilt with the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Fred in midfield.
Nonetheless, the former Real Madrid manager could be making plans for a new signing for reasons unknown to the public just yet.
According to the Daily Star, the Sun report that the Red Devils will rival Manchester City for Ruben’s signature and test Wolves’ stubbornness with a £60m bid.
Pep Guardiola’s side should be able to match that bid so it will most likely come down to which club he wants to play for more.
Perhaps Mourinho’s willingness to bid so much is due to the rumours linking Pogba with a move away from the club.
Such a thing would certainly make room for a signing and Neves may be just the man the United boss is keen on.
