Chelsea have been handed some much-welcome injury news ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liverpool as four players have returned to training.
Firstly, Andreas Christensen, who was taken off at Anfield after feeling ill earlier in the week, trained fully on Thursday and he’s in contention to start at centre back if Antonio Rudiger fails the late fitness test that he’s due to take.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek will also take a fitness test that will determine if he’s healthy enough to take a place on the Chelsea bench as it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be in consideration to start.
Finally, winger Pedro, who injured his shoulder whilst playing in the Europa League last week, returned to training on Thursday and could be in contention to start, although it’s more likely that he’ll be on the bench as he’s lacking match fitness.
If Chelsea defeat Liverpool for the second time this week, they’ll leapfrog the Reds in the Premier League table.
