Diogo Dalot is in line to finally make his Manchester United debut after a summer on the injury table.
The Portuguese, who joined Man United in June for £19.5m, picked up a meniscus injury in May which required surgery.
Jose Mourinho noted before the international break that Dalot would be available to play for United for the first time at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
With that in mind, here is how United could line up for the clash with Javi Garcia’s side.
Watford have won all four of their games so far this season – only Chelsea and Liverpool have managed that – and pose a serious threat to a United side which was heavily exposed at the back in defeats to Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Adopting a three-at-the-back set-up, like they did for the 4-2 win in this fixture last season, would give United more stability in their defensive third and allow them to keep the ball more. Mourinho will not want an open game with lots of set-pieces.
That gives Dalot a chance to demonstrate his ability to create width and crosses into the box for Romelu Lukaku, who scored for Belgium over the weekend. Anthony Martial excelled in this role at Watford last season, scoring one and assisting another, and could finally get himself on the board for the 2018/19 campaign.
