Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has had his say on Jose Mourinho, insisting the manager is the right man for the club.
There’s been plenty of speculation of Zinedine Zidane taking over from the Portuguese boss due to the somewhat slow start to the season.
United recovered with wins against Burnley and now Watford but initially suffered two losses in their first three fixtures of the season.
Mourinho was already made favourite to lose his job first out of all the Premier League managers but Giggs believes there should be stability.
The former Real Madrid manager won the Europa League and League Cup in his first season in charge as well as leading his side to runners-up positions in the Premier League and FA Cup in his second season.
According to the Daily Star, Ryan said to Manchester Evening News: “He is the right man for the job. He’s got good players and he’s a good manager so I don’t see where United would go after him.
“There’s always going to be speculation about who can come in and who can replace but as far as I’m concerned they need stability.”
One would forgive Giggs if he wanted to put more pressure on Jose since he wants the Manchester United job but instead he stays biased.
The truth is unless the former Chelsea man hugely underperforms this season then he should be allowed to continue in his position.
Fans have recognised Mourinho wasn’t sufficiently backed by the owners of the club and so can’t be held solely responsible if they don’t challenge for the title this campaign.
