Manchester United ended a tumultuous tour of the United States in positive fashion with a 2-1 win over Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho’s men begun the game brightly against the European champions – playing their first pre-season game of the summer – and put themselves in charge through goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera.

Karim Benzema pulled a goal back before half time but Man United held out to win their first game of the tour ahead of returning to Manchester.
