Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has responded to rumours that emerged of Jerome Boateng’s potential move to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese deflected attention to the club’s CEO, referring to Ed Woodward who’s in charge of the ins and outs in terms of signings.
United have only made one major signing in Fred with fans becoming increasingly concerned there won’t be enough time to bring in any more players.
Mourinho himself publicly stated his desire to sign two new players but admitted he would potentially only get one due to time constraints.

Jose may be considering investing in a back-up striker following the relatively poor pre-season the club experienced in Romelu Lukaku’s absence.
Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez and even Marcus Rashford (though it was only for one match) all played through the middle for Manchester United but didn’t do so well enough.
Perhaps the Chilean did the best but it’s clear Mourinho’s system requires a target man more than anything so it was still tough to replace Lukaku.
United failed to have a single shot on target for the whole 90 minutes against Bayern which is surely worrying regardless of the friendly situation.
