Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in Leicester City’s Harry Maguire and have found a back-up to chase instead.
The Englishman emerged as a shock target of Jose Mourinho’s following his outstanding World Cup performances a few weeks ago.
The Portuguese manager was believed to have prioritised the signing of Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld but gave up on it after some tough negotiations.
It’s now believed the same has happened with Maguire and now Mourinho will focus his efforts on bringing in a different name instead.
The 25 year old perhaps missed his chance of getting to play in the Champions League but may be rewarded with a new contract at Leicester.
According to Manchester Evening News, Sky Sports reports that the Red Devils have cooled their interest in Maguire and have instead turned their attention to Yerry Mina.
The Barcelona man also emerged as a surprise target fairly recently but it was believed he was more of an option than an outright target.
However, perhaps the Spanish side will be more willing to negotiate terms than the aforementioned English clubs have done so far.
It’s believed Barcelona don’t consider Mina to be a key player and may be willing to let him go.
