Arsenal could face an interesting last couple of days of August, with French striker Alexandre Lacazette potentially looking to leave the Emirates Stadium after falling out of favour with manager Unai Emery – according to Le10Sport via the Mirror.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has so far been the lone striker of choice up-front for the Gunners, leaving Lacazette to come off the bench in all three Premier League games so far this season – in fact the 27-year old has clocked up 95 minutes of action so far, not scoring or assisting to-date.
There was a feeling in pre-season that Lacazette and Aubameyang could play together under Emery this season, with one being deployed slightly wider – however that has yet to be tried in the first three starting lineups.
Le10Sport in France (via the Mirror) are suggesting that Lacazette is already angling for a move before August 31st transfer deadline for European clubs – with unnamed clubs on the continent already making enquiries into the striker’s availability.
Arsenal are expected to rebuff all offers and hold on to Lacazette until at least the January transfer window, with the club knowing they are light up-front should something happen to Aubameyang in the next four months of the season.
Since signing for Arsenal in 2017, Alexandre Lacazette has scored 17 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with an additional five assists.
