Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to Daley Blind following his departure to Ajax, claiming he was amongst the most professional players the manager ever coached.
Many fans were happy to hear such a compliment because it was a statement they could agree with as the Dutchman never complained of his lack of match time and always worked his hardest.
Despite consistently not being used in his most favoured position, Blind always got on with things and never made it known he was unhappy about anything.
Whenever needed, the versatile player would fill in for the squad and certainly proved himself to be useful if nothing else but unfortunately he had to move on for the sake of his own career.
Jose had already brought in Diogo Dalot to reinforce his defence and although it wasn’t a direct replacement for Daley, it’ll still keep his mind at ease knowing the Portuguese can play on either flank.
Mourinho: “I would like to say a big thank you to Daley Blind for everything he has done for the club since he joined in 2014. I have to say, that in my 18 years of management, Daley is the one of the most professional players that I’ve had the pleasure to work with.” #mufc [MU] pic.twitter.com/UxjBV6KqE0

Some reports have claimed Blind will be used in a centre-back role once he returns to his former club Ajax so he’ll have to continue putting his versatility to the test.
Capable of playing in defensive midfield, central midfield, left-back and centre-back, there’s no doubt he’ll prove to be a top signing for the Dutch side once again.
