Lukaku pays tribute to Arsenal legend

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has paid tribute to former Arsenal icon Thierry Henry for playing his part in the Belgian’s development.

The pair share the same position in terms of where they featured for their respective clubs as they’re both are or were strikers.

Lukaku and Henry have been working with each other since the latter joined the international set-up as a coach under Roberto Martinez’s management.

Since then, it’s been visibly clear how close the two have become and the former has consistently, publicly expressed his gratitude to the latter.

Romelu has improved remarkably over the course of the last season with United fans seeing him develop right in front of their eyes.

Thierry clearly played a part in that development and the Belgian has had a remarkable World Cup campaign, grabbing four goals but it’s his contribution that was more impressive.

The former Everton man’s link-up play has grown tenfold, making him a more complete forward as he’s continuously worked on his weaknesses.

There’s no doubt that when Lukaku returns to Manchester United after his holiday, Jose Mourinho would be getting back a completely new striker.

Should he carry his World Cup form into the Premier League season then the Portuguese manager may yet have a chance on winning the title.
