Chelsea have told Barcelona and Manchester United that they will need to launch a bid worth €80m in order to sign Willian this summer, according to reports from Spain.
Man United made an enquiry regarding Willian’s situation at Chelsea in May ahead of Anthony Martial‘s possible departure from the club this summer.
And with Martial now almost sure to leave, United could ramp up their interest in Willian, who has reportedly attracted an unsuccessful bid from Barcelona.
According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea will demand a fee of €80m if they are to part ways with Willian in the summer.
The Brazilian demonstrated why Jose Mourinho likes him so much in his country’s 2-0 win over Mexico on Monday, bringing energy and discipline and execution and creativity to the final third – especially in the second half, providing the likes of Philipe Coutinho and Neymar with space to exploit in the process.
But to entertain the idea of signing him, and the money that entails, would be United getting ahead of themselves. The transfer window is just over a month away from closing and the club, first and foremost, need to get their hands on a left-back before worrying about attacking reinforcements.
