Tottenham Hotspur and France captain Hugo Lloris has tipped Paul Pogba to become a “true leader” at Manchester United.
The Frenchman has played a talismanic role for Manchester United this season, driving play forward from midfield and serving as the platform for wins over top sides like Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
And he has continued in the same vein in Russia with France – most notably in the last 16 win over Argentina last week.
Speaking ahead of his country’s quarter-final clash with Uruguay, Lloris noted how Pogba had growingly found his voice in the dressing room throughout his career.
Lloris: “Pogba? I think he’s maturing, he’s growing. He’s accumulating experience, be it with Manchester United, Juventus – now he’s lining up more seasons, more caps. He’s starting to grow in the locker room also and that is a good thing because he’s a true leader.” #mufc [MEN]

Pogba, as we have seen, has the potential to lift a team. In that respect he can also bring a team down, such is his importance to any tactical system. When the ball isn’t moving quickly and Pogba is jogging rather than jaunting across the pitch, Jose Mourinho’s team always struggles.
When, like against Man City in April, Pogba gets on the ball and has movement in front of him, the results are staggering. Very few midfielders have as much natural talent. He is a leader in his personality and, as Mourinho has to realise soon, in the way he plays too.
