Manchester United have confirmed the transfer of Lee Grant from Stoke City after it was reported he completed a medical earlier in the afternoon.
The goalkeeper is expected to be the club’s third choice behind David de Gea and Sergio Romero and his move comes after Sam Johnstone moved to West Brom permanently.
It was said that Grant was signed to replace current third choice Joel Pereira who’s expected to be loaned out at the earliest opportunity.
However, there are also those who claim that he was actually brought in to replace Romero who wants to leave as he’s worried about his Argentina spot.
The fully blooded international wasn’t part of his nation’s World Cup squad due to his injury but there were rumours he was purposefully left out.

Nonetheless, Lee can make the most of his transfer even though he’s only at Old Trafford for two years should he impress and climb the ranks.
The former Stoke man’s move has come as a bit of a surprise as it was thought that United were chasing more lucrative deals such as the reports that linked them to Gareth Bale or even Neymar.
Jose Mourinho has moved quickly to address an area he felt needed a little more cushion should the rumours of Sergio or Pereira leaving be true or even if a set of freak injuries occur.
