Chelsea finalising £5Om double deal

Chelsea are set to complete the double swoop of Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri and the Italian side’s star player Jorginho, the telegraph reports.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that the £50million double swoop is close to completion.

Talks have been ongoing between Chelsea and Napoli for the Blues to appoint Sarri as current manager Antonio Conte’s successor since the end of last season.

It now seems that the two sides are set to agree a £50m fee, plus £7m in bonuses, to take both Sarri and midfielder Jorginho to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City had been widely expected all summer to sign Jorginho, and they are yet to give up on trying to gain his signature with personal terms between the player and City having already been agreed.

De Laurentiis spoke of the negotiations between Chelsea and Napoli nearing a solution.

The Sarri deal is in the homestretch, it depends on him.

I’ve laid down my conditions. It’s all in the hands of lawyers. Jorginho? We said to ourselves, ‘if Jorginho has any requests, we’ll take them into account.’

For that, I’ll have to apologise to Manchester City. However, if the player would rather live in London than Manchester, I can understand that.

If Chelsea are paying him even more, I can understand that too. Jorginho and Sarri together again? Jorginho would go to Chelsea regardless of Sarri.

Chelsea are still yet to terminate the final year of Conte’s managerial contract, which is worth £9m, but it is looking increasingly likely that the Italian will not be in the Chelsea dug out come the start of the new season.
