Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic is a man in demand and according to new reports from Italy, Werder Bremen have joined the race for his signature.
Pasalic looks all but set to depart Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis this summer, having spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan in Russia with Spartak Moscow.
Serie A outfit Atalanta appeared to be in pole position to land Pasalic from Chelsea but according to a report from Di Marzio, Bremen are now looking to pip them to the signing of the player.
Atalanta have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea over a loan deal for Pasalic with the option to buy, but they will now be sweating over their proposed transfer with Bremen joining the race.
Di Marzio’s report indicates that Pasalic’s future will become clear on Wednesday, with a decision set to be made in the coming days.
The 23-year-old is currently out in Australia with the rest of the Chelsea first-team squad. Pasalic even played a part in the Blues’ first friendly under Maurizio Sarri, as they defeated Perth Glory 1-0.
