Manchester United are set to renew David de Gea‘s contract which is certainly going to reassure fans who were concerned he would leave to Real Madrid.
The La Liga giants have been chasing the Spaniard’s signature for a few seasons now but have failed to so far thanks to various reasons.
A faulty fax machine was once the reason to blame but United fans can be sure that Real wouldn’t make that kind of mistake again.
Fortunately though De Gea will sign a new contract to deny the Galacticos once and for all so that Ed Woodward can focus on bringing in players instead of losing them.
Jose Mourinho is still in need of a few more signings and with the World Cup having begun, it could be a tricky period to navigate through.
According to the Independent, the Red Devils are not concerned by Madrid’s interest and are confident in tying David down to a five year contract that will see him stay at Old Trafford at least until he’s 32 years old.
The deal is a remarkable turnaround from the talk of the past few days that the goalkeeper would certainly leave his club and Mourinho will sign Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak as a replacement.
