Reports in Germany suggest that Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno after a €20 million bid (via Sport Witness).
It has been a busy few hours at Arsenal in terms of transfer business and that could well continue in the coming days.
Arsenal are in dire need of a new goalkeeper and many names have been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno is often close to the top of the list and now, there has been some major development.
Reports in Germany claim that Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Leno after making a €20 million bid for the player.
Both SportBild and Kicker have claimed that they expect the goalkeeper to sign for the Gunners with Leverkusen ready to move the former German international on.
Time isn’t as pressing in this deal with Bernd Leno not currently in the German World Cup squad but that may not matter with reports that the player is keen to move on to his next club. Bernd Leno has been seen as a highly talented young goalkeeper in Germany for many years. He hasn’t the best of time in recent seasons but perhaps a move could invigorate him.
