Arsenal have confirmed that Jens Lehmann has left the club after just one year on the Gunners’ coaching staff (via Arsenal.com).
Almost a month after confirming the appointment of Unai Emery as the club’s head coach, Arsenal have confirmed the Spaniard’s new coaching staff and backroom team.
A month ago we reported that a number of backroom staff members have left the club following Arsene Wenger’s departure and now, it has been officially confirmed.
Neil Banfield, Tony Colbert, Gerry Peyton and Boro Primorac all left the club, as did medical professionals Colin Lewin, Andy Rolls, Ben Ashworth and Dr Philippe Boixel along with Travel Manager Paul Johnson.
Today, the club has confirmed that club legend Jens Lehmann has left Arsenal just a year after joining the coaching setup.
Dear #Arsenal Fans , I am sorry to leave the club after only one year again. It was a good experience working with the players as one of the assistant-coaches. But the attitude from our 2004-group is not needed there anymore.

“All these people have played a huge part in the club’s success and development over many years,” said Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis.
“We thank them for all their hard work and wish them all the best for the future.”
The club has also confirmed the following appointments to the coaching setup including a new role for Steve Bould.
First Team Assistant Head Coach: Juan Carlos Carcedo
First Team Assistant Head Coach: Steve Bould
First Team Coach: Pablo Villanueva
Director of High Performance: Darren Burgess
Strength and Conditioning Coach: Julen Masach
Goalkeeping Coach: Javi Garcia
Goalkeeping Coach: Sal Bibbo
Data/Video Analyst: Victor Manas
“Unai has a very strong and talented team and I’m delighted that they are joining us,” Gazidis went on.
“I’m also pleased that Steve Bould, Sal Bibbo and Darren Burgess will continue their work with us. As we go through this period of change, we need to retain some continuity and they have an important role to play.”
It’s going to be fascinating to see how these new staff members get on. Many of them are highly thought of including the new goalkeeping coach Javi Garcia and Unai Emery’s long-term assistant Juan Carlos Carcedo. It’s a shame to see Jens Lehmann departing the club but pleasing that Steve Bould will continue at Arsenal.
