Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United’s recent experience of winning cup finals gives them the edge over Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho’s men claimed the Community Shield at Wembley last year, along with winning the League Cup against Southampton and ending the season as Europa League winners following a 2-0 win over Ajax.
They will go into the game as favourites against a Chelsea side whose manager Antonio Conte has never won a cup final.
And Ferdinand, speaking ahead of the game, has backed Mourinho to deliver once again at Wembley.
“The experience of last year’s Manchester United team in winning two cup finals will put them in a good place,” he said.
This has been a difficult season at times.
