Frank Lampard has been doing his coaching badges at Stamford Bridge and is reportedly ready for his first job in management, according to The Mirror.
Lampard has been in London qualifying for his coaching badges since retiring after a spell in the MLS playing for New York City FC.
The ex-England international has been linked with managerial jobs, most heavily to the vacant role at Portman Road to take over Ipswich Town now Mick McCarthy has left the East Anglian side.
His fellow England compatriot, Steven Gerrard, is in a similar position and looksset to be appointed at Scottish giants Rangers.
Lampard said in a recent interview
I’ve spent a lot of time at Chelsea this year, gaining hours of experience. I’ve already managed to get my A licence in coaching. So yes, with the right opportunity and right timing for me, I’d really take a close look at it. You do want to give back, show you can help try to develop players, and help them tactically and whether you can be a good man-manager.
So Lampard may be in a job as a manager sooner rather than later, and as he has urged fellow English players to follow the likes of him and Gerrard.
