Chelsea given free run to sign Bundesliga forward this summer

Robert Lewandowski is said to be considering a blockbuster move to Chelsea with Real Madrid set to end their interest in the Bayern striker.

The Express claim that a summer move to Chelsea could be on the cards with Madrid now opting to stick with Karim Benzema this summer.

Chelsea are said to be in the market for a marquee striker this summer with Alvaro Morata failing to impress during his first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Polish striker has long been linked with a move to Madrid after turning down a move to the Bernabeu during his time with Borussia Dortmund.

Lewandowski failed to impress in the Champions League against Madrid, in what was being dubbed as a glorified audition for the striker.

Benzema, who has seen his long-term future at Madrid questioned, scored in the game and impressed as Zinedine Zidane’s men secured their place in the Champions League final.
