Shahid Khan has said there would be every possibility of Chelsea using Wembley Stadium as a temporary home, reports the Evening Standard.
The Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars owner has offered over £500 million to buy the national stadium from the Football Association.
The deal is expected to be completed this year, as officials are happy with the offer.
Chelsea will see this as complicating their plans to use the stadium for up to four years from the 2020 season onwards.
They want to redevelop Stamford Bridge, and Wembley was the most logical place to move while work commenced, but with an NFL team expected to be using it frequently, this has made Chelsea worry about their plans.
The Pakistani billionaire says Chelsea will be allowed to use the stadium, and doesn’t think the timeframe will be a problem:
Obviously, they would be paying for it, just like Spurs did, but I think it is really important because our goal is to get the usage up and that would be part of it. Could it happen for four years? Obviously, you would have to move things but from our viewpoint, we would love that to work.
