The BBC’s David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal have a five-person shortlist in their search to replace Arsene Wenger (via The BBC).
The quest for Arsene Wenger’s replacement is now in full effect as the club comes to terms with the Frenchman’s decision to leave.
Everyone has an opinion on who should replace the Frenchman with an agreed-upon shortlist amongst fans.
Well, it seems that the club has its own shortlist of names with the BBC’s David Ornstein claiming that Arsenal have a five-person list of potential replacements for Wenger.
The five-strong list was handed to Stan Kroenke in the event of Wenger’s departure.
Ornstein claims that the club are fans of big-name managers like Max Allegri and Carlo Ancelotti but that the Gunners board would also consider a younger target.
The likes of Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira have been cited, as have Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Leonardo Jardim.
It’s good that the club has plans in place for Arsene Wenger’s departure. There are some promising names on the list of targets but few would be better than the current manager of Juventus, Max Allegri.
