Manchester United will reject all offers tabled for Marcus Rashford in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The youngster featured in every Man United fixture this season up until missing the 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United through injury, but has only made four starts since the turn of the year.
His recent absence from the starting XI has prompted reports – completely baseless, it should be added – suggesting he wanted to leave in the summer.
But according to ESPN‘s Rob Dawson, United have no intention to let the academy graduate leave and will not entertain any offers for him over the summer transfer window.
Let us just make it clear now: this is not where the attention should be, nor will it be when June comes around.
There will no doubt be a considerable exodus from Old Trafford in the summer: Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini are both off, while the likes of Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Anthony Martial could follow.
Those are the players we, as supporters, should be interested in. To put a homegrown talent who has more appearances than any other United player under Mourinho in this list is simply wrong – and indeed pointless.
