Man City join Chelsea in race for star midfielder

It was reported earlier this week that Chelsea had been in contact with Nice about the possibility of signing midfielder Jean-Michael Seri this summer, but the Blues will now have a rival for his signature.

According to a report from James Tucker of the Telegraph, Manchester City are also keen to sign the Ivorian international as Pep Guardiola looks to improve his squad yet again.

The 26-year-old came close to joining Barcelona last summer but the deal fell through and with Barca seemingly not interested in him anymore, Chelsea and City could have a straight battle for him.

However, that depends on the intentions of Manchester United as they have also been linked with a move for the midfielder.

Chelsea’s summer recruitment did not go as well as they’d have hoped so they’ll be looking to do much better this summer and the arrival of Seri would be a good starting point.
