Alvaro Morata has spoken about his reaction after he substituted in last night’s game against Burnley, reports the Independent.
The Spaniard was visibly upset as he left the pitch, kicking the ground in anger followed by throwing his shin pads in frustration when he sat in the dugout. Cesc Fabregas eventually calmed his fellow international down.
Morata, who missed a glorious one-on-one chance when Chelsea were 1-0 up, took to social media to apologise for the situation, saying:
I want to apologize for my reaction when I was sent to the bench, when I fail I get really angry with myself.

The Blues eventually won the game 2-1, and manager Antonio Conte said he thought the forward was annoyed with himself after failing to find the net again:

A lot of times when you score it changes your confidence. I think he was very angry with himself.
Morata’s place in the FA Cup semi-final this weekend is now under threat as he’s scored just one goal since December.
Olivier Giroud could force Morata out of the side for the game against Southampton after scoring two goals against them in last weekend’s Premier League game.
