Marouane Fellaini has returned to Carrington as he continues to recover from a knee injury sustained against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Belgian suffered ligament damage whilst on international duty in October and has only made one start since amid continued problems with his knee.
He only lasted seven minutes after coming on during the 2-0 defeat at Wembley on January 31, with Jose Mourinho later noting that he would be out until the Champions League quarter-final stage.
But Fellaini has given encouragement to supporters by posting an Instagram story of him arriving at Carrington for training.
It is perhaps somewhat typical of Fellaini’s dramatised Man United career that, in his best season yet at Old Trafford in terms of performance, he has been reduced to just five starts.
He was comfortably United’s best midfielder throughout September, producing combative, decisive displays against FC Basel, Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace, and even looked like the side’s biggest threat in Basel in November.
For all that is said about what Fellaini supposedly lacks, he offers something unique whenever he steps onto the pitch. And Mourinho, ahead of two defining months, will just hope that the 30-year-old can stay fit and reassert his impact on games like he did at the start of the campaign.
