Manager slams Mourinho's treatment of this Man Utd star

Ex Inter and Crystal Palace manager Frank De Boer has slammed Jose Mourinho for his treatment towards Marcus Rashford.

The Englishman has been in the spotlight this weekend after his stunning brace helped sink fierce rivals Liverpool in the crucial clash.

Rashford was deadly at Old Trafford, grabbing both his goals within the first twenty minutes of action to set United up for smooth sailing for the rest of the match.

Mourinho praised his player in the post-match press conference and admitted that the academy product had previously suffered with confidence issues.

De Boer though has absolutely taken apart the Portuguese coach, claiming that it’s a ‘pity’ that Marcus is stuck with the manager.

According to 101 Great Goals, Frank said to BT Sport: “It’s a pity that the manager is Mourinho. Normally he’s an English player, you want him given time, he can make mistakes.

“Mourinho is not like that, he wants to get results. If he has one or two not good games, he puts him out. He’s very young. He needs games, he’s so talented – you want to see this player every week.”

Frank De Boer’s words come across as strange due to the reality of the situation as Jose’s love for the youngster has been publicly stated multiple times.

The former Chelsea manager has not just talked the talked though but has also walked the walked as Marcus Rashford was the only player involved in every match-day squad prior to his injury.

In fact, the 20 year old has made 40 appearances for the Red Devils this season across all competition, providing proof of Jose Mourinho’s trust.

The coach can even be accused of being biased towards Rashford, occasionally playing him even when he appears to be out of form or burnt out.

It got so bad at times this season that some fans were even begging for Anthony Martial to be given an opportunity but Mourinho still stuck by his man.
