Manchester United star Marcus Rashford insists that he doesn’t expect Jose Mourinho to explain his prolonged absence from the squad.
The Englishman is already a fan favourite with many anticipating him to start pretty much any match that he’s available for.
Alexis Sanchez’s arrival has certainly hurt Rashford’s chances of making the line-up more often but Mourinho is definitely trying to force him in at any opportunity.
After the academy product’s performance vs Liverpool it will surely be easier for the Portuguese manager to include his player in more matches.
The youngster though doesn’t feel as though he needs an explanation from his manager and understands that he won’t be starting every match United play in.
According to Goal, Marcus said: “He [Mourinho] doesn’t have to. When you are younger than I am and you are learning the game I think you do need it.
“But my experiences from the past mean I understand that’s part of the game. There are only 11 players that can start – it’s just one of those things.
“It is something you have been through before. If it happens again you will probably deal with it better than the first time it happened to you. It is just another experience.
“In football you are going to be up, you’re going to be down. The most important thing is sticking together as a squad. Everyone turns up every day for training, we all work hard, we all do the necessary things.
“We are all in it together. Sometimes you are in the team, sometimes you are not in the team.”
The 20 year old has made 40 appearances across all competitions for his club so far this season, proving Jose’s faith in him.
The former Chelsea manager rarely praises his players in public but has an obvious soft spot for Marcus Rashford who he has backed multiple times.
Sanchez’s arrival in January coincided with the striker’s poor run of form as well as the small knocks he picked up in matches or training.
In fact, Rashford’s place was taken up by the more in form Anthony Martial at the time and so it wasn’t directly the Chilean’s fault for the lack of appearances.
At his young age, he has plenty of time to eventually solidify a spot in the starting XI on a regular basis but now Jose Mourinho has the luxury of playing him when he’s fit and firing.
