Justin Kluivert told to reject Man United for this European giant, by his own father

Despite links to Manchester United, Justin Kluivert has been told to join FC Barcelona.

His own father, UEFA Champions League winner Patrick Kluivert, has urged Kluivert to follow in his footsteps and sign for Barcelona if given the option.

The younger Kluivert has been linked to Man United after impressive form for Dutch side Ajax.

Links also came after United boss Jose Mourinho and Kluivert shared a private chat at last season’s UEFA Europa League final post-match, minutes after the Reds had secured a comfortable 2-0 win to lift the competition for the first time.

“I’m very proud of him. He’s doing very good at Ajax,” Patrick Kluivert said, speaking to Omnisport.

“He’s now a first XI player. If he’s playing like this in the long-term, he could be one important player in the future.”

Having played for the La Liga giants for six years, Patrick unsurprisingly advocates a move to the Camp Nou for his son.

Justin Kluivert has contributed to 11 goals in 24 Eredivisie games this season, scoring seven times.

“Of course, I prefer that he goes to Barcelona but in football, everything can happen,” Patrick continued, speaking in his role as Hublot ambassador.

“He’s an adult, he can make his own decisions but he’s already said it’s a dream for him to play for Barcelona. But you never know in football.”

18-year-old Justin is at the very early stages of his career but is already impressing. His father, of course, netted a UEFA Champions League final winner at the same age in Ajax’s golden generation.

However, a move to United seems unlikely for the second generation of talented Kluivert strikers.

That’s mainly because of the talent Mourinho already has in Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, as well as many more progressing through the club’s academy.

However, Justin himself denied rumours linking him to Old Trafford off the back of last May’s public chat with Mourinho.

“He said it was nice to see me again after such a long time, because he had known me when I was a baby. And he said it was nice to see that I was doing well,” Kluivert said.
