Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has delivered an update on the condition of his players ahead of their clash with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The Blues are enduring a difficult season and will see the Spurs game as a must-win, with their London rivals currently ahead in fourth place by a sizable total of five points.
A win over Spurs would bridge the gap to only two points and help Chelsea in their pursuit of a top four finish this season. However, they will be forced to do so in the midst of injury concerns at the back.
Addressing the media ahead of the Spurs game, Conte discussed his defenders’ fitness for the encounter and failed to deliver promising news for Blues fans.
David Luiz looks set to be sidelined until May as he continues to recover from a niggling knee injury which has halted his progress this season. Conte was not wholly convincing when delivering an update on Andreas Christensen’s condition ahead of the game, either.

Ethan Ampadu also suffered a season-ending injury in recent times and will be forced to sit out for the remainder of what has been a promising maiden campaign in the first-team.
