Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has had a conversation with Paris Saint-Germain about a possible transfer, according to reports from Belgium.
Courtois, who has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, apparently met with officials from PSG at a hotel in London on Monday, along with his father.
The report also indicates that the Belgian star has also been in contact with Real Madrid, and that he actually came close to moving there in January.
Courtois has made no secret of his desire to move back to Madrid as that is where his family still live, but the interest from PSG is certainly a new development.
According to Belgian outlet RTBF, the talks with PSG focused on the financial package that the French giants would be willing to offer Courtois if he did make a move.
A source told RTBF:
In the course of the discussions, Thibaut insisted in particular on a culture of winning that is still missing at PSG. PSG has not yet won major competitions.It is not anchored in its DNA as it can be in other major European clubs. And that is what scares Thibaut. He wants the guarantee that the club has this ambition. That is the only thing that interests him.
RTBF believe that Courtois will be playing for PSG or Real Madrid next season, time will tell if they’re right.
