Alexis Sanchez put in an impressive home debut for Manchester United as the Reds saw off Huddersfield Town comfortably in a 2-0 win.
It was important for Jose Mourinho’s side to bounce back from a woeful performance in midweek against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, losing 2-0 on Wednesday night and being outclassed.
They did that, and with a key role for new signing Sanchez, playing his third game for the club after joining from Arsenal but in his first home fixture.

The Chilean forward was far from his best against Spurs in midweek having enjoyed a pretty solid debut against Yeovil Town in Man United’s 4-0 thrashing of the League Two side in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
However, he looked good against Huddersfield, constantly hacked away at by the Terriers but constantly getting back up off the ground and continuing to show why the promoted side took that approach to stopping him.
Sanchez scored the rebound from a penalty that he saw saved in the second-half to give United a two-goal cushion that they maintained until the final whistle.
United don’t play until next Sunday against Newcastle United now, giving their new signing time to rest after three games in quick succession. Hopefully, this determined and resolute Sanchez can continue to show himself after this performance.
