Chelsea should look no further than Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe if Antonio Conte does leave this summer, according to Jamie Redknapp.
The Sky Sports pundit, who was writing in his Daily Mail column believes that Howe would be the perfect fit for Chelsea.
The time will come when Howe feels he has outgrown Bournemouth and he is more than capable of becoming Chelsea’s first permanent British manager since Glenn Hoddle in 1996.
Eddie likes to have consistency and continuity. For that reason, maybe the Arsenal job would be a better fit once Arsene Wenger decides to leave, but it would be difficult for him to turn down Chelsea should the opportunity arise.
There are still doubts over Conte’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge, as speculation regarding his job rumbles on.
Reports have suggested that defeat at Watford on Monday night could spell the end of his time at Chelsea.
Howe has earned plenty of plaudits for the job he has done at Bournemouth since taking over.
The former Bournemouth player has been influential in their rise through the divisions, as he tries to establish the club as a Premier League outfit.
Howe pulled off one of the results of the season when they beat Conte’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 3-0.
Goals from Callum Wilson, Junior Stanislas and Nathan Ake saw the Cherries take all three points in a rather convincing victory.
