Luis Enrique has been strongly linked with taking over the Chelsea job if Antonio Conte is sacked but the London Evening Standard report that the Spaniard will not consider accepting the role until the summer.
Chelsea’s form has significantly dipped in 2018, picking up just two Premier League wins since the turn of the year and dropping back into fourth in the division, and Conte is seemingly edging closer to the sack.
Former Barcelona manager Enrique is the hot name to take over but he’s not willing to step into the Chelsea dugout without his former backroom staff at the Nou Camp.
Juan Carlos Unzue (assistant manager), Robert Moreno (another assistant), Rafel Pol (fitness coach) and Joaquin Valdes (psychologist) all worked with Enrique at Celta Vigo before he took over at Barcelona in 2014 and returned to the club after Enrique resigned last summer.
Enrique opted to take a year out of the game but is interested in a return to management with Chelsea next season should there be a vacancy.
