Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has been announced as the ‘best Belgian footballer playing abroad in 2017’.
Former winner Thibaut Courtois surprised his countryman at Stamford Bridge with the award for the winger. Goals and Assists were something very frequent for Hazard towards the back end of last season, resulting in him winning this award.
Hazard has been playing well for Belgium of late and his from for club and country has picked up just in time for the World Cup. When asked about playing for his country he said:
I’m aiming to win the World Cup or the European Championships with Belgium.
He was the scorer of a consolation goal in Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat away to Watford on Monday evening and leaves Chelsea in fourth, battling to finish in the top four. With a fairly easy game at home to West Brom up next for the blues, they will want to forget the Watford result and try and pick up three points against the baggies.
