Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has thanked the support shown by the club’s supporters as the pressure mounts on the Italian.
As reported by West London Sport, Conte says that the Chelsea supporters ‘deserve the best’ as he looks to turn the club’s form around.
When quizzed about the fans, Conte said:
For sure I have to tell thanks to the fans. From the start of my experience with Chelsea they try to stay behind me in every game and they continue to do this and I am happy and proud for this.
They understand that I am giving all myself and maybe more for this club. I want to tell thanks to the fans because they deserve the best and I will try with my players to give them my best.
There were suggestions that Conte could lose his job following the club’s emphatic 4-1 away defeat to Watford on Monday night.
Conte’s frustrations were clear to see following the full-time whistle as the 48-year-old looked a shadow of the man that led the Blues to the Premier League title last season.
Despite the growing acceptance that the Italian will leave the club in the summer, the club’s supporters have got behind Conte and were heard chanting his name from the get-go against Watford.
