Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that the club are struggling to treat Alvaro Morata’s back injury.
Conte has revealed that they have failed to find a solution to his ailments as they look to get their striker back in contention.
The Blues host West Brom at Stamford Bridge on Monday night and look set to be without Morata once again, with Olivier Giroud possibly in line for his Chelsea debut.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Conte said this:
Players like Morata, for us, are very important and have been missing for a long period of time. I don’t know how long he will be out.
We are struggling a lot to find a solution to solve the pain in his back.
If you ask me whether he needs a day, a month or the rest of the season, I don’t know. I don’t know. For this reason, I’m a bit worried. You know very well the importance of the player.
Morata signed for Chelsea from Real Madrid last summer for a club-record £58m and has scored 12 goals so far this season.
The Spaniard has ten goals in 20 Premier League appearances, but has struggled with injuries throughout the campaign.
