Chelsea’s late window dash to bring in another attacker highlighted the issue that the Blues do not have the strength in depth that their Premier League rivals can boast at this point in time.
Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge, along with Pedro not getting any younger, Chelsea are expected to attempt to sign a wide forward in the summer and they have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.
Reports claim that Barcelona are beginning to lose patience with the 20-year-old France international after a stop-start first season at the Nou Camp and are ready to part ways with the attacker with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann eyed.
Dembele only joined Barcelona back in the summer in a deal worth a potential £120m from Borussia Dortmund but a severe hamstring injury suffered early in the season has limited the forward to just eight appearances for the club so far without scoring.
Barcelona have held talks with Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid regarding a summer move for the versatile attacker as they look to recoup as much of their investment as possible.
