Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has come in for some high praise from an unlikely source as Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich names him as the toughest player he has ever faced.
According to a report by Goal, Kimmich believes that the Spanish international poses a unique threat.
The pair met when during Morata’s time with Juventus and he clearly left a lasting impression on the German.
It was very tough to play against him because he has a very strong body, he is very fast and has a good technique. So it wasn’t easy to play against him.
The praises comes shortly after the out-of-form Chelsea striker struggled at Old Trafford as the Blues fell to a 2-1 away defeat.
The former Real Madrid striker enjoyed a fine start to life at Stamford Bridge, scoring seven goals in his first eight games across all competitions, which included goals against Atletico Madrid and a hat-trick against Stoke.
Morata is now in the middle of a goal drought for the Blues. He has failed to find the back of the net in 10 games, with his last coming against Brighton on Boxing Day.
Many Chelsea fans have called on Antonio Conte to start former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud ahead of the club-record summer signing.
