Chelsea have been linked with a move for former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique in recent times, but it seems Arsenal are also keen to recruit the Spaniard.
It’s claimed by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo that the Gunners want to hijack the Blues’ pursuit of the manager, as they reconsider Arsene Wenger’s future at the club.
Wenger put pen to paper on a two-year extension at the Emirates at the end of last season but after what has been an underwhelming campaign so far, it seems they are being forced to explore other options.
Chelsea, too, appear to be pondering over the managerial hot seat. Antonio Conte is under serious pressure and Enrique is understood to be keen on managing in the Premier League next.
Roman Abramovich is understood to be keen on backing Conte until the end of the season at least, but it seems the Italian is fighting a losing battle in his current post at Stamford Bridge.
