Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has decided to give his squad an extra two days off following their 4-1 defeat to Watford on Monday night.
The Champions were outplayed by the home side and whilst some fans would probably be keen to see Conte punishing the players by getting them right back on the training pitch, the manager has gone the other way and decided to give his players a break.
The Italian feels that fatigue has become a factor in their recent performances and hopes that a couple of days off will do his players the world of good.
The players were originally meant to return to training on Wednesday but with the club’s next game not until Monday night, Conte has allowed them to take an extra two days off.
The visit of West Brom to Stamford Bridge is starting to look like a must-win game for Chelsea now, so the manager will be hoping that a bit of rest will reinvigorate his players ahead of a big run of games.
