Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has informed Chelsea that he is not interested in replacing Antonio Conte this summer.
The Times reports that Simone sees his immediate future at Madrid, but could be tempted by a move to Manchester United in the future.
The 47-year-old has two and a half years remaining on his current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time.
Simeone was touted as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho, prior to Conte’s appointment.
The Madrid boss speaks little English and has often discussed his preference of a move to Italy, to take over at Inter, where he spent time as a player.
Conte is widely expected to leave the club this summer, despite having a further year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has been widely tipped to replace the 48-year-old, however, reports in Italy have claimed Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri is also under consideration.
