This Man Utd star has been given permission from Mourinho to speak to Barcelona

Manchester United’s Dutch star Daley Blind has been given permission from Jose Mourinho to speak to Spanish giants Barcelona according to reports.

The versatile midfielder has been linked with Ernesto Valverde’s side for a few months now but it has only been recently revealed that he’s been allowed to discuss a transfer with the club.

When Mourinho initially arrived at the club, most fans expected that it would spell the end for Blind since he’s not a Mourinho type player.

However, he’s since proven himself useful to the Portuguese manager, featuring in midfield, left-back and centre-back on separate occasions.

Lack of match time and Barcelona’s interest may prove too tempting to him however and the Red Devils may find themselves short of the midfielder’s intelligence.

According to Team Talk, Mundo Deportivo report that Jose has given Daley permission to speak to Barcelona with the Spaniard club willing to offer €15m for him should everything go smoothly.

Daley Blind‘s lack of a true spot in Manchester United’s starting XI makes it understandable if he wished to leave Old Trafford.

The Spanish giant’s method of football would also perhaps suit him a little more but the position in which they’re reported to feature him in is a little concerning.

Rumours claim Barcelona see him as a ball-playing central defender but Blind’s lack of pace, strength or jumping reach has been exposed time and again in the Premier League.

Javier Mascherano enjoyed playing in that position for the Catalans but would they be willing to return to those days given how they now have two natural central defenders in Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti?
