Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have arrived in Liverpool to update their work permits ahead of joining Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
The two clubs reached a breakthrough in negotiations on Saturday morning, with the final settlement emerging as a straight swap deal not involving any surplus cash.
Both players had medicals on Sunday and Craig Norwood confirmed earlier this morning that the only remaining obstacle would be updating work permits, which requires a trip to Liverpool.
And the pair have been spotted in Merseyside as they draw closer to completing the much-anticipated swap deal.

This process shouldn’t be too troublesome for Sanchez. For a successful permit he needs to have played in at least 30 per cent of Chile’s internationals over the last two years, and his talismanic role for La Roja means his record far better than that – just three games missed out of 31.
This criteria for Sanchez is set by Chile’s place in the current top ten of the world rankings. For Mkhitaryan, however, things could be slightly more complicated given his country lies 90th in the rankings, necessitating the implementation of a points-based system that he will come through without any problems but one that could yet delay an official announcement until tonight or tomorrow morning.
