Eden Hazard has told Chelsea that they don’t need to sign another striker this month.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the Belgian believes that the Blues are coping just fine, even without Alvaro Morata, who missed the Brighton victory through suspension.
Speaking after the 4-0 win, in which Hazard put in a Man of the Match performance, he asked why many are calling for the club to sign another striker.
Football is simple — keep the ball on the ground and try (to play) like we did. I think we have two very good strikers in Alvaro and Michy. If they are not ready to play I can play striker, so I don’t think we need (another one).
Because we are missing chances, people are saying we need another striker, but if we are scoring goals we are the best attack in the league and no one can say we need a striker.
Chelsea have been linked with several Premier League forwards, ranging from Andy Carroll to Ashley Barnes.
Morata has been struggling for form in recent weeks and has not scored in the Premier League since Boxing Day.
Despite the Spaniard not scoring in six, Michy Batshuayi has been unable to hold down a place in Antonio Conte’s side, leading to yet more speculation about his future.
It has been reported that Batshuayi could leave on loan this month but that only looks likely if another striker is bought during the current window.
